Mota-Engil forms a partnership to promote the integration in Portugal of workers from CPLP countries

Mota-Engil Engenharia and the Training Institute of Portuguese-speaking Countries (IF-CECPLP) established a partnership to promote the integration in Portugal of workers from the countries of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP).

The Mota-Engil and IF-CECPLP initiative will run a training and capacity-building program in the workers' country of origin, facilitating their social and professional integration in Portugal, thus contributing "to the fight against irregular and risky immigration and to solving the need for workers in the construction sector in Portugal.

Under this program, cited by the portal "hrportugal" it is also intended to strengthen bilateral relations between the respective countries, promoting the mobility agreement between the countries of the CPLP Member States. The workers will be integrated into Mota-Engil, with a work contract and a one-year (renewable) work visa.

The first group, from Guinea-Bissau, will already be integrated in three construction sites in Lisbon, and is made up of carpentry and masonry workers.

This first group of workers who now arrive in Portugal represents only 601 PT2T of the trainees covered by this phase of the Mota-Engil Engenharia and IF-CECPLP project. The remaining 40%, duly trained and qualified, will remain in a pool of workers created for this purpose, which will serve Guinean companies, with this project contributing to the qualification of the workforce, thus benefiting local companies that will have qualified technicians at their disposal.
