Mozambique makes progress in promoting equity in access to education

The Minister of Education and Human Development, Carmelita Namashulua, considers that the country is making significant progress in promoting equity of access and participation in education, especially for girls, thanks to the implementation of various initiatives for equitable and innovative inclusive education.

Speaking this Wednesday during the presentation of the UNESCO award to Girl Move Academy for its contribution to girls' and women's education in the country, Carmelita Namashulua explained that the Education Strategic Plan (2020-2029) implements an education system capable of ensuring quality learning, which has contributed to greater participation of girls in education.

However, the expansion of education systems at all levels, with a focus on primary education, still remains a challenge.

"Among the main challenges of the system is the safety and inclusion of girls, to increase their and women's participation in all levels and subsystems of education," Carmelita Namashulua annointed.
