Mozambique mobilizes countries in the region to mobilize funds for climate resilience

Mozambique urges other Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries to prepare transboundary projects and mobilize funds for increased climate resilience in shared river basins.

According to the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Osvaldo Machatine, who was speaking a few days ago in Eswatini at the signing of the agreements to establish and host the Incomati and Maputo River Basin Commission, the necessary resources can be obtained from the mechanisms of the climate change areas available globally.

To this end, Machatine, there is a need to seek funds to address the cyclical flood and drought scenarios that plague the member countries of this regional bloc body.
