Moçambique já arrecadou mais de 200 milhões de dólares com projecto de FLNG de Coral Sul

Mozambique has already raised 206 million dollars, equivalent to 13 billion meticais, since the start of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, produced by the Coral Sul platform in ultra-deep waters in the Rovuma basin, in the north of the country..

"This project is proof that Mozambique has the potential to host more initiatives of this nature," said the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Pale, at the end of a visit to the floating LNG processing, storage and unloading unit, located in area 4, more than 60 kilometers off the coast of Cabo Delgado.

On the same occasion, the minister announced that the project had already made 104 gas shipments, in an operation that began in the second half of 2022.

Area 4 is operated by Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) - a consortium owned by Eni, ExxonMobil and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) - which has a 70% stake in the Exploration and Production Concession Contract.

"We hope that, in the future, the gains for the country will be in the order of 1.3 billion dollars a year. It's something that is significant for our balance of payments," added Estevão Pale, as quoted by Radio Mozambique.
