The new Legal Framework for Foreign Citizens sets out the rules for entry, stay and exit from the country, and also establishes rules for the entry and exit of foreign citizens under the age of 18 from Mozambique.
These provisions can be seen as one of the many new features of this law. Therefore, for the purposes of entry into and exit from national territory by foreign citizens under the age of 18, the following conditions must be met:
When unaccompanied by parents - at the time of entry and/or exit, a written authorization must be presented from the parents or the person exercising parental authority, in Portuguese or translated and notarized by the competent authorities.
When accompanied by one of the parents - a written authorization from the other parent expressing their consent to the minor's travel, in Portuguese or translated, notarized by the competent authorities, must be presented at the time of entry and/or exit.
It is important to note that in cases where the person to whom the minor is entrusted is refused entry, the measure extends to the minor and the same happens when a minor under the age of 18 is refused entry. RSM
