Mozambican Rosa J. Chilundo and a student-researcher from Uni Zambeze were recently awarded the first prizes of the REN-Ciência LP and Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia 2023 scientific merit medals in Lisbon (Portugal).
All Portuguese-speaking countries could compete for the prizes. The Mozambican scientist won first prize and the Mozambican student-researcher second, according to the News.
Rosa Chilundo won with her work Photovoltaic water pumping system for irrigation and supply of other energy demands: tomato case study, Boane district, Maputo province.
She believes that, based on its work, EDM can develop photovoltaic systems (off grid) and distributed generation, because it proposes models for the productive and efficient use of energy to make better use of the potential of solar photovoltaic systems.
