The first accusation came last week from a MMV trainee in Monapo, in Nampula province. This week, it was the trainees from Quissanga, in Cabo Delgado, Buzi, in Sofala, and Alto Molócuè, in Zambézia.
In an audio circulating on social media, a trainer claims that they were informed that they were training MMVs to ensure Frelimo's victory. The district director of STAE "said that you are here training to guarantee Frelimo's victory," said the trainer, who announced that last week they would receive a list from the Frelimo party containing the names of members aligned with the idea of making the fraud operational. Until the last day, the trainers will receive names of people nominated by the party to take part in the training. They (the trainers) must not refuse to receive these members.
"We have to follow orders. We've been told that we're in the army here. In the army you only respond to orders," the trainer added in the audio. She says that none of the little more than 150 trainees refused the instruction. On the contrary, they responded positively.
This week, CIP Eleições learned that the same orders were given to the trainees in the Quissanga district of Cabo Delgado. They were told that on October 9 they must comply with the party's guidelines (to benefit it).
In Buzi, the MMV trainers were summoned by the Frelimo party to be informed that they will not have the autonomy to select the MMVs in training, because that function should fall to STAE and the Frelimo party.
In the town of Chókwè, in Gaza, the MMV are instructed "to do everything possible to ensure Frelimo's victory," one of the MMV told CIP Eleições.
On the other hand....
Due to the lack of food in the training process, some trainees for MMV positions have chosen to give up and return to their villages. This is because most of the trainees have come from other villages to the district headquarters in order to take part in the training. These people stayed with relatives or friends. The trainees enter at 7.30 am and finish the training at 2 pm, without eating. (Text: CIP Eleições. Image: DR)
