The Members of the Polling Station (MMVs), who had been assigned to ensure that the entire voting process ran smoothly, including the counting of votes and the publication of notices at the respective polling stations, completely abandoned all the voting material.

The voting material (ballot boxes, booths, etc.) was abandoned at the Completa Unidade 10 Primary School, on the outskirts of Maputo city. The whereabouts of the MMVs are unknown, as are the reasons for this.

The preliminary results have not been published. In fact, it is not even known if the votes have been counted.
