MISAU ensures that vaccination against covid-19 is already close to the goal

A total of 15,142,219 people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since the beginning of the population immunization process in March of last year.

The numbers are close to the vaccination target set by the Ministry of Health (MISAU), which is 16,208,538 citizens. Thus, at present the national vaccination coverage stands at 94.1 percent of the target group.

According to the authorities quoted by Notícias, in the previous 24 hours, 3415 people were vaccinated with the first and second rounds. A cumulative 415,392 received the booster portion. In all, 14,314,375 people are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Meanwhile, between Wednesday and yesterday, 85 people tested positive for the disease out of a total of 801 suspected samples examined. Of the overall infections, 13 were diagnosed in minors between zero and 14 years old.

The positivity rate stood at 10.61 percent and the cumulative portion at 16.97. The country has a total of 396 active cases of the disease.

Health reports that 13 people, all in Gaza province, have recovered from the infection. In the same interval, there were no deaths from Covid-19 and no new hospitalizations. Meanwhile, one person was discharged from hospital in Niassa.

Thus, three patients are hospitalized in the Covid-19 inpatient centers in Maputo City.
