Finance Minister Carla Louveira said that Mozambique should open up its economy to foreign capital cautiously and gradually.
She was speaking today at the Bank of Mozambique's scientific conference, where she also defended the need to promote economic and financial policies in the country.
Quoted in "O País", the minister stressed the importance of opening up the national economy to foreign capital, in order to promote employment and generate income.
"In an increasingly globalized world, where financial flows cross borders with unprecedented speed and volume, the liberalization of the Capital Account is of paramount importance to attract resources that foster economic growth, increase market efficiency and promote employment and income generation, without, however, compromising domestic economic stability," she said.
