The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), through the Asset Management Office (GGA), is holding a public auction tomorrow and Tuesday in Maputo City of 49 vehicles, nine tractors, several leashes and other movable assets that have been seized in recent years and which are discounted by 30% from their appraised value.
The action stems from the implementation of the Special Legal Regime for Extended Asset Forfeiture and Asset Recovery and the Asset Management Office's Regulations for the Management of Seized Assets and Administrative Procedures.
This is the third event of its kind to take place this year and various goods are available, including vehicles of all makes and cylinder sizes, home furnishings, electricity transformer stations, containers, trailers, tractors and heavy machinery and professional bicycles.
According to a Sunday newspaperThe first batch consists of 21 vehicles of different makes, the prices of which vary according to the state of repair and the make, with the most affordable costing around 106,000 meticais and the most expensive just over a million meticais, of the Mercedes-Benz make.
The vehicles are parked at the Maputo Provincial Directorate of the National Criminal Investigation Service, at the Machava administrative post in Maputo province, and at the MEF park in Maputo city.
