A few days ago, Millennium bim, in partnership with the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (INGD) and the local authorities, donated approximately 70 tons of essential goods to the victims of Cyclone Chido, which hit northern Mozambique last December..
The aim is to alleviate the suffering and restore hope to 1,500 families in the districts of Mecúfi, in Cabo Delgado, and Namiroa and Eráti, in Nampula, considered to be the areas hardest hit by this disaster.
As part of yet another social responsibility action, through the "More Mozambique for Me" program, Millennium bim's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rui Pedro, said on the occasion that "more than a financial institution, Millennium bim has been a partner committed to the life and well-being of Mozambican society for three decades". For this reason, "the donation of these essential goods is, above all, an embrace of solidarity and a gesture of hope".
"At a time of pain and uncertainty, we cannot close our eyes to the suffering of our brothers and sisters. We are together in the reconstruction and in the search for better days for all," added Rui Pedro, quoted in a statement from the institution.
Further on, Millennium bim's CEO reiterated that this response to Cyclone Chido reinforces the Bank's ongoing commitment to stand by the communities in which it operates, closely monitoring the evolution of the situation and collaborating with local authorities and organizations to ensure sustained and effective support.
