Millennium bim and the Helpo Association recently held a photographic exhibition called "Escola do Caminho Longo", an initiative that highlights the dilemmas experienced by 20 young people displaced by the effects of the floods and the humanitarian crisis in Cabo Delgado province.
Inaugurated in the Teachers' Garden, the exhibition is by writer Maria João Venâncio and photographer Luís Godinho.
Support for artistic and cultural productions and events in support of solidarity is one of the pillars of Millennium bim's "More Mozambique for Me" Social Responsibility program, which has been implemented over the years with a significant impact on the lives of Mozambicans.
For Millennium bim, the "School of the Long Road" exhibition aims to raise awareness of the ongoing need to support those affected by the crisis in Cabo Delgado through impactful actions that exalt fraternity and contribute to raising awareness of humanitarian issues.
On the occasion, the PCE of Millennium Bim, José Reino da Costa, said that "solidarity and assistance to the victims of the current situation in the north of the country is an ongoing mission for all Mozambicans.
We cannot remain indifferent to the dilemmas and constraints faced by our compatriots affected by the effects of climate change and insurgency.
That is why, through this photographic exhibition, we intend to share their story, while at the same time aiming to awaken all of us, as a society, to extend a helping hand on this long road that is part of our schooling as Mozambicans."
The "Escola do Caminho Longo" exhibition can also be seen in the cities of Pemba and Beira, and has also been on show in Portugal at the Museu Nacional dos Coches, Centro Comercial Colombo and Centro Comercial Gaia Shopping.
