Medicines become more expensive in Mozambique

Medicamentos passam a ser mais caros em Moçambique

Medicines, vaccines and other biological products for human use are going to be more expensive in the country, given the dynamics of the pharmaceutical market and the existence of new product categories as a result of technological developments.

A press release from the Ministry of Health (MISAU) on the new fees for services provided by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (ANARME, IP) states that, in accordance with Article 10(k) of Decree no.o 115/2020, of December 31, which approves the Organic Statute of ANARME, IP, the validity of the new fees is also allied to the level of regional and international communities that show that there was a need to update the fees charged.

In this context, Ministerial Diploma no 15/2023 of January 20, which updates the fees charged for the services provided by ANARME, IP, in force on the date of its publication with reference to January 20 of this year.

However, all interested parties are informed that, for cases submitted up to March 10, 2023, the previous fees will prevail and all cases submitted after March 13 will be subject to the new fees. (Letter Text )
