The Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) will elect its presidential candidate this month for the general elections scheduled for October 9.

The information was provided by the secretary-general of the MDM party, Leonor Lopes, who is in Tete province on a working visit.

Lopes also said that as of next week, the party's organs will meet to deliberate on the matter

The source said that so far, no member of his party has expressed an interest in running for the presidency of the party, or for the presidency of the Republic.

It should be noted that the MDM is currently led by Lutero Simango, who is also a member of Parliament for the MDM.
