Tomorrow, in the city of Beira, the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) will elect its candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, as well as deputies to the Assembly of the Republic and provincial governors.
The party wants to challenge potential candidates to put forward their intentions without encountering any obstacles. Once the candidacies have been presented, they will be put to an internal vote.
"The first condition, in terms of profile, is to be Mozambican. And based on that, we'll assess each person's ability to meet the country's challenges.
The Mozambican people need a president with the capacity to run the country and with policies that benefit everyone without exclusion," explained the president of the MDM National Council, Pedro Casimiro, quoted by "O País".
"We know there are problems in health, education and other areas. Now, if our president is someone with well-designed policies in various areas, we can say, yes, ma'am, he will develop this country. We want to embrace people who bring solutions and not problems," said Casimiro.
However, the source did not give the names of the candidates, but merely said that they would be leaving the forum.
