Mbappé becomes the highest paid footballer in the world

Mbappé passa a ser o futebolista mais bem pago do mundo

Kylian Mbappé's decision to renew his contract with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) halted the French international's departure to Real Madrid last Saturday. But, to keep the player, the Parisian club had to win the race to the Spanish emblem and to do so put on the table the most expensive contract in the history of soccer.

According to the newspaper Económico, the PSG number seven has signed a contract for three seasons and, according to the Spanish daily Marca, will be entitled to a salary in the region of 50 million net euros per year, as well as a signing bonus set at 100 million euros.

Who gets money even without being involved in the deal is Monaco. The club where Mbappé finished his training, agreed with PSG in 2017 to loan him to the Parisian club, with a buyout clause worth 180 million euros.

The permanent transfer was made in the summer of 2018, and it was agreed that if the French international renewed his contract at a later date, Monaco would be entitled to receive €35 million. With the renewal of the contract, the French capital club now owes the payment of that amount to the Monegasque club.
