The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, has appointed Maria Isabel Bento Rupia to the post of Judge Counsellor of the Supreme Court.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, Isabel Rupia's appointment was made in accordance with the powers conferred on her by the Constitution of the Republic, at the proposal of the Superior Council of the Judiciary.

Among other duties, Judge Isabel Rupia has already headed the anti-corruption unit.
