In the province of Maputo, in the Golhosa neighborhood, people tortured and buried alive two people, one of whom was an agent of the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) assigned to the general directorate of the city of Maputo.
According to Rádio Moçambique, the two individuals, who are friends, went to the Golhosa neighborhood to claim ownership of two plots of land, one of which had allegedly been allocated to another citizen.
When they arrived at the site, they tried to locate the former owners of the land and as they didn't know the residence of one of the people involved, they decided to ask the residents.
This allegedly made some residents uncomfortable, who approached the two individuals to ask about their interests in the neighborhood.
Afterwards, the SERNIC agent allegedly took out his firearm and fired a few shots, in the midst of popular unrest.
"The SERNIC man had a gun. When he saw the pressure, he fired three shots into the air and the people grabbed the two young men, who after being beaten, opened a grave, still alive, and put them in the grave," said a witness, quoted by RM.
