The event also aims to use the countries' experiences to build climate information networks and discuss current issues in natural disaster risk research.

According to the deputy director for research and extension at the Faculty of Engineering at Eduardo Mondlane University, UEM, Roxene Cadir, during the work of the regional conference on climate change and Africa's future, the research council will be focused on finding solutions to climate problems that impact on rural communities.

This meeting in Maputo follows the first one held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, last year.
