Today, at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Center, the city of Maputo is hosting the central ceremony for World AIDS Day and "Red December".
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health (MISAU), the event will present the results of the National Survey on the Impact of HIV/AIDS (INSIDA 2021) in Mozambique.
The event will be led by the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, and will be celebrated under the slogan "Achieving Equality and Equity in the Response to HIV/AIDS".
It should be noted that the prevalence of HIV-AIDS in Mozambique remains high, despite the work that has been done in this regard.
In Africa, the data points to more than 25 million people on the African continent living with HIV. And Africa accounts for almost two thirds of all new HIV infections globally, despite the millions of dollars used to fight the disease.
