The city of Maputo is hosting the 5th edition of the “Right to Dream” program on November 27 at the Hotel Glória in Maputo, the largest reflection forum created to inspire, motivate and engage women at various levels, boosting gender equality and promoting female leadership in all socio-economic sectors.
As part of the Confia Initiative of the Foundation for Citizenship and Human Rights, “Right to Dream” seeks to create a safe space for sharing transformative experiences with the potential to impact and change the lives of women and girls in Mozambique.
The program is led by Eulália Nhatitima, Executive Director of the Foundation for Citizenship and Human Rights and Patron of the Confia Initiative, who, with the support of other women and partners, provides mentoring and training programs for women from all walks of life.
According to Nhatitima, with the 4th edition having been a success, the 5th is expected to be even better than the previous editions.
“With each edition we become more and more convinced of the strength of women and their willingness to support each other in making Mozambique a benchmark for women's empowerment and female leadership.
In the last edition of the Right to Dream Program, we managed to bring together more than 800 women in the same physical space, all sharing the same purpose,” explained Eulália Nhatitima.
To make up the event's roster of panelists, various figures from the public and private sectors have been invited to take part, including leaders, businesspeople, politicians and academics who are expected to share their visions with the audience.
In fact, this will be the first time that the Right to Dream Program will allow men to be included in the debate panels, as partners in the process of empowering women.
Until the date of the conference, places are still open to take part in the meeting, with a particular invitation to women who want to contribute, at various levels, to building an ever better Mozambique.
The Right to Dream Program is implemented on a biannual basis, and the latest edition was held last July at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre in Maputo.
