The desire of the former Mozambican Minister of Finance, Manuel Chang, is to answer the case of Hidden Debts in the United States of America (USA) instead of being extradited to his homeland, according to close sources quoted by a national portal.
This information, according to the portal, came in the wake of the note that the Constitutional Court of South Africa revoked the request of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) for the extradition of Chang to Mozambique.
"He already wants to go to the United States," reads the portal, citing a source close to Chang. And, with this, a "half-answer" is anticipated if the PGR decides, once again, to appeal the decision of the Gauteng High Court that authorizes the extradition of Manuel Chang to the United States.
Manuel Chang has been detained since December 2018, following an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol at the request of the US justice system. The indictment against Manuel Chang was published on January 3, 2019. The indictment says that Chang personally received $12 million.
