 It is a demonstration that reflects adherence to Venâncio Mondlane's call for phase II of the nationwide general strike.

His supporters and sympathizers, as well as those of the Podemos party, set up barricades on the EN1 and burned tires in both directions of traffic.

The PRM General Command called on the Mozambican people not to join in and to stay away from acts of vandalism. It urged them to opt for civility and wait for the official release of the election results.

At 2:30 p.m., the National Electoral Commission (CNE) will release the results of the general elections held on October 9.
