Nearly 120 private and public establishments have been vandalized since last Monday in Maputo City, according to preliminary data from the Maputo City Council.
"It's time for all of us to work, rather than lament. Things are already here, they are as they are. Let's join hands and move forward. Let's reorganize ourselves," said Rasaque Manhique during a tour of the affected establishments in order to ascertain the impact of the demonstrations.
Faced with the situation, Rasaque Manhique urged the owners of the vandalized establishments to look to the future in order to rebuild their businesses for the good of the capital and the country.
He also said that "we mustn't foment hatred. It's clear here, in the institutions we're visiting here, whether public or private, you shouldn't do what you did, you shouldn't do it, it's ugly. These are institutions that we need," said Manhique.
