At least 252 people lost their lives during the protests that erupted in Mozambique after the October 9 elections, validated this week by the Constitutional Council.
The data was revealed today by the non-governmental organization Plataforma Eleitoral Decide, pointing out that half of the deaths, 125, were recorded since the beginning of the week, between the 23rd and 26th.
According to the organization, most of the victims were registered in Maputo province.
In 66 days, 4,175 people have been arrested. 137 arrests took place this week. The organization also says that since October, 569 people have been shot, 224 of them since Monday. Six people are missing.
