A 12-year-old minor, whose name we have not been able to ascertain, is between life and death in Nampula Central Hospital (HCN), having been shot four times, allegedly by the police to contain the wave of demonstrations, writes the newspaper Notícias.
The HCN confirmed that the victim had been admitted to intensive care and said that the minor could be taken to the operating room for the removal of other firearm projectiles.
Suleimana Isidoro, director of the Emergency Services, said that nine people were admitted to the sector in the early hours of yesterday, most of them in serious condition.
The source quoted by the newspaper referred to patients with serious injuries and others who had their arms amputated and injuries, also serious, to the abdomen.
International organizations such as HRW accused the police of using excessive force, including live ammunition, to stop demonstrations against the results of the local elections.
