The Manica Provincial Prosecutor's Office sanctioned 495 civil servants for violating the Public Probity Law during 2023.
Their salaries were suspended and fines of up to two times their salaries were imposed.
Among other things, the law requires civil servants in managerial positions to declare their assets.
According to Jorge Tivene, the province's chief prosecutor, the declaration or update that must be made runs from January 2nd to March 31st of each year.
"We recommend that those who are at district level don't bother coming to the provincial capital to submit the declaration. They can do it at the district attorney's offices which, in turn, will send it to the provincial attorney's office in due course," explained Tivane, quoted by TVM.
