The city of Chimoio, in Manica province, has had a new Vocational Training Center since Monday (12), aimed at training young people with technical skills and promoting self-employment in the region.
The facility, which has the capacity to train up to 1,100 young people a year, includes an administrative area, four classrooms, workshops in electrical installation, civil locksmithing and welding, a workshop pavilion, as well as a residence for the director. The center also has its own water supply system and generator set, guaranteeing autonomy in its operation.
During the inauguration ceremony, the head of state highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education as a concrete response to the aspirations of Mozambican youth in terms of employment and entrepreneurship. "The center represents a strategic step in the efforts to decentralize technical training, seeking to adapt it to local needs and boost inclusive economic development," added Daniel Chapo.
The new training unit will offer practical courses in areas such as carpentry, electricity, construction and locksmithing, with the aim of making it easier for young people to enter the job market and stimulating entrepreneurial initiatives.
