Mambas beat Guinea Conakry to keep their dream of going to the 2026 World Cup alive

Mambas vencem Guiné Conacri  e mantém viva o sonho de ir ao mundial 2026

The National Football Team (Mambas) once again picked up three precious points on the road to the 2026 World Cup, beating their Guinea Conakry counterparts on Monday night by a scoreline.

The goal that secured victory for the Mambas in the match in Morocco was scored by Geny Catamo from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute.

The match was even from the start, with both teams looking to score, but to no avail.
Finally, the newly naturalized Pepo made his debut in the best possible way.

It was his pass that led to the foul on Infren that gave the Mambas the penalty.

After four matches Mozambique has nine points, the same as Algeria, which leads the group on goal difference.

The Mambas' next World Cup qualifier won't be until March 2025, when they host Uganda at the Zimpeto National Stadium for the fifth and final match of the first round.
