Mambas end the year on the list of the 100 best teams in the world

The Mozambican national soccer team, Mambas, remained on the list of the 100 best teams in the world, according to the updated FIFA ranking, released yesterday, Thursday (19).

Mozambique remained in 96th position, with 1232.7 points, which means it will close 2024 on a high note.

According to a Challenge newspaperBefore the November rankings, the Mambas were in 98th place with 1229.01 points, having reached position 96 in the penultimate FIFA update, after collecting 3.69 points in the last Data-FIFA, in which they played the fifth and sixth rounds of Group "I" qualifying for CAN-2025, the final phase of which will take place in Morocco.

In the games in question, Chiquinho Conde's team lost at home to Mali (0-1) and won away to Guinea-Bissau (1-2), thus qualifying for CAN-2025 with 11 points, three less than Mali (14) but respectively six and nine points ahead of Guinea-Bissau (5) and Eswatini (2), who failed to qualify.

At a global level, there has been no change in the top 10 and they continue to be occupied by Argentina, France, Spain, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Germany, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Angolan national team recorded its biggest rise in the last 12 months, climbing 32 places to 85th. San Marino continue to close out the ranking in 210th place. The team won for the third time in their history and even won away.
