CAF has scheduled the draw for the qualifying round of the African Football Championship, CAN 2025, to be held in Morocco, for July 5. The event will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Forty-eight nations will meet in the qualifying round for the CAN next month.
According to African soccer's governing body, Chad, eSwatini, Liberia and South Sudan will be part of one of the 12 groups competing for the 23 places that give them access to the final stage of the competition, having played in the preliminary round.
These four teams will join the defending African champions, Côte d'Ivoire, and others such as Algeria, South Africa, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, eSwatini and Ethiopia.
The other teams going into the draw on July 5 are Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
