More Three Mozambican boxers qualify for African boxing final in Cameroon  

Mais Três pugilistas moçambicanos qualificam-se para a final do africano de boxe no Camarões   

On Friday (04), Mozambique managed to qualify three national boxers for the final phase of the African boxing championship, which is taking place in the Cameroonian capital, Youndé.

This is Alcinda Panguana, who beat Brigitte Mbabi, from DR Congo, in the 71kg category. In the same men's category, Tiago Muxanga beat Cameroon's Albert Menge; and Rady Gramane beat host Chepy Lenou in the 75kg category.

Mozambicans Salomone Júlio and Armando Sigaúque lost to Moroccans Mohamed Assaghir and Soulaimane Samgouli in the 86kg and 57kg categories respectively.

Boxer Isabel Mulungo (63kg) lost to Ugandan Erina Namutebi.

Other national boxers who have already secured medals are Bernardo Marrime, who qualified for the final; Yassine Nordine and Benilde Macarringue, who both won bronze.

In addition to Mozambique, which is in Yaoundé to revalidate its titles, other countries appear to be the favorites to win, namely hosts Cameroon, Algeria and Morocco.

The update, according to Notícias, offers a prize of 20,000 dollars for the gold medal, up from 10,000 dollars in the previous edition; the silver medal will receive 15,000 dollars, up from 5,000 dollars previously; and the bronze medal will receive 5,000 dollars, up from 2,500 dollars previously.
