More than 160 thousand people in the regions of Tete, Manica, Sofala and Zambézia provinces may be affected by floods.
The alert is issued by the Regional Water Administration in the center of the country, ARA-Centro.
These are inhabitants of the cities of Beira, Dondo, Chimoio and Quelimane who may experience urban flooding, and several other districts, including Doa, Mutarara, Namacurra and Morrumbala.
The head of the Department of Water Resources at the Central Regional Water Administration-ARA, Francisco Macaríngue makes it known that the phenomenon, whose impact on the cities will be felt in critical districts, due to heavy rain that has been falling since last Thursday, coupled with the overflow of Zambezi, Búzi and Pungoè rivers.
