The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), the second opposition party, Lutero Simango reiterated his commitment on the 18th day of the electoral campaign to end terrorism in Cabo Delgado province if he wins the elections next October.
Lutero Simango's commitment was expressed yesterday, Tuesday (10) in the Montepuez district, where he promised to put an end to terrorism, renegotiate the contracts signed with the megaprojects and set up a graphite processing plant in Balama.
"I want to make a commitment to you to solve your problems. The first problem is the issue of the war, because it's slowing down development, it's killing people, it's destroying property, among other problems," said Simango.

The MDM presidential candidate, after asking for votes in Montepuez, went on to the district of Namuno where he promised to improve the road linking the two districts.
The expansion of the water and energy supply networks is another of Lutero Simango's promises.
"I want to commit here that in my government, when I am elected as President of the Republic of Mozambique, we will fix the road here, and I know that there is a lack of water in this district, I want to bring clean, quality water closer to your homes. I'm going to bring energy here, because in my government there can be no distinction between Mozambicans, so you here deserve to have energy, that's my commitment," he agreed.
The political candidate guaranteed that if he wins the elections, Cabo Delgado's wood will be processed there, as the province is rich in resources and land to produce, which can generate employment for young people and business opportunities by selling and reusing the resources that the province offers.
Simango is also planning a factory to process graphite in Balama, which will also create business and employment opportunities in Cabo Delgado province and Mozambique in general.
