The presidential candidate of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), Lutero Simango, has promised to turn the natural resources of Manica province into job opportunities.

Alternating between marches, people-to-people contact and rallies, Simango put youth at the center of his promises because he believes they need special attention.

"I want to bring about change, create business, employment and training opportunities for young people, because the country has everything it takes to succeed. We can turn the resources we have into opportunities. We want our wealth to serve Mozambicans without discrimination. That's why we talk about Mozambique for all, because it doesn't belong to any one party, but to all Mozambicans," said the MDM candidate in Manica, where he has been working since Friday.

In a Sunday newspaperSimango then pointed to corruption as an evil to be combated. "In hospitals we are going to guarantee medicines and doctors because in our government this thing of paying nurses to be seen will not happen. My government will fight corruption.
