Brazilians return to the polls today for the second round of the presidential election, in which the current head of state, Jair Bolsonaro, is seeking re-election, and former president Lula da Silva is trying to return to the Palácio do Planalto.
The confrontation between the two candidates divides the country between the radical right that supports the current ruler and the left led by the candidate of the Workers' Party (PT).
The polls point to a victory for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with an average difference of about five points over Bolsonaro.
As in the first round, held on October 2nd, all polling stations in Brazil will operate from 08:00 to 17:00 in Brasília, the country's capital, which will force cities located in different time zones to adjust their voting hours.
Brazil's electoral authorities estimate that 156 million Brazilians are eligible to vote.
