Delay in the disbursement of monetary values by international donors compromises the resettlement deadline for families affected by the route of the Temane/Maputo power transmission line, a 590-kilometer extension.
A total of 250 families from the districts of Manhiça, Marracuene and Boane are currently waiting to be removed from their places of residence to resettlement areas located in Gumbane, in the town of Boane.
The provincial Director of Territorial Development and Environment in Maputo explains that the completion of the housing to resettle the households was initially scheduled for next month.
Aida Sulemane says that because of the phased disbursement of funding for the construction of homes for families affected by the Temane/Maputo power transmission line, the deadline for their resettlement may extend until the end of this year. (RM).
