The President of the Republic today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new Supreme Court (TS) building. This infrastructure will cost 3.85 billion meticais, from state funds, and will be built in 16 months.
According to Filipe Nyusi, the new infrastructure, to be built in the city of Maputo, will have eight floors and occupy an area of 23,000 square meters.
To this end, the Head of State considered that the country has been making significant progress with the "One District, One Fair Court" program. However, he acknowledged that the Supreme Court is one of the institutions that has been struggling.
"The current facilities are inadequate. A Supreme Court infrastructure is a country's calling card. It will therefore be an iconic building that will represent our capital," said Filipe Nyusi.
