Tourism Week, which starts today, will be marked by various activities, which will culminate on September 27th, World Tourism Day.
According to the newspaper Notícias, the central ceremony to launch the Tourism Week will be held simultaneously with the launch of the 8th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FIKANI), in a hotel unit in the city of Maputo and will be led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula.
This year, according to a note from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the date is celebrated under the slogan "Rethinking Tourism". With this motto, the World Tourism Organization, intends to boost the recovery and growth of the Tourism sector, taking into account the negative impacts caused by the covid-19 pandemic, where Tourism was the economic sector strongly affected.
The Tourism week is celebrated throughout the country with the promotion of various activities with emphasis on lectures, excursions to tourist sites, exhibitions of the tourist potentialities of the country, among others.
It is important to mention that the country was elected to the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) for the period 2021-2025.
