LAM reinforces fleet with Boeing 737-500 to relieve "pressure" on flights

LAM reforça frota com Boeing 737-500 para aliviar “pressão” nos voos

Mozambique Airlines (LAM) announced today the temporary integration of a Boeing 737-500 aircraft to its daily fleet, increasing the number of aircraft flying daily to four.

In a statement to which MZNews has had access, the state-owned airline said that the aircraft has been operating since early this morning, with the capacity to carry 134 passengers and "the advantage of accommodating more volumes and cargo".

"Relieving the pressure on the company's daily flights," explains LAM, which with this solution now operates with four aircraft, including the previous ones: a CRJ 900 and two Embraer 145s.

In the note, "LAM guarantees that it is committed to finding definitive solutions to restore the quality of its operations and guarantee improved assistance to passengers".

It should be noted that the shortage of aircraft, coupled with breakdowns, has led LAM to make constant cancellations, rescheduling flights to other times.
