On Friday, the Central Office for Combating Corruption (GCCC) arrested a judge from the Maputo Provincial Judicial Court in the act, when he was found in possession of 20,000 meticais charged for facilitating a pension-setting process he was handling, writes Notícias online.

According to the source, the accused was brought before the judge of Maputo's High Court of Appeal for the first interrogation of an arrested defendant, and was given the maximum measure of restraint, pre-trial detention.

At the moment, in order to ascertain the material truth, the criminal case registered under no. 77/P/GCCC/2023 is at the investigation stage.
