The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, has reappointed Jorge Ferrão as Rector of the Maputo Pedagogical University (UP).

An AIM publication reports that the Mozambican head of state also appointed Gustavo Dgedge and José Castiano to the post of Vice-Rector in separate Presidential Orders.

In the (internal) elections for the position of the Pedagogical University of Maputo, Jorge Ferrão was running with Bento Rupia Júnior. José Castiano with Benedito Sapane for the position of vice-rector for the academic area; Manuel Zunguze and Gustavo Sobrinho Dgedge for vice-rector for the administrative area.

Jorge Ferrão won the election with ten votes, against six for Bento Rupia Júnior. José Castiano won with nine votes against eight for Benedito Sapane, while Gustavo Sobrinho Dgedge won with thirteen votes against four for Manuel Zunguze.
