Joaquim Sive promises to solve 90% PRM's salary problems this year

Joaquim Sive promete resolver 90% dos problemas salariais da PRM ainda este ano

By the end of this year, around 90% of the salary problems faced by members of the Mozambique Republic Police (PRM) will have been resolved, promised the Commander General, Joaquim Sive.

“On the issue of salaries, as I mentioned, we are in the process of resolving these problems. We are at a level of more or less 60%, in that period when we started doing the work. This is an example of how we can achieve around 80 or 90% in resolving our members' salary problems by the end of this year.” he said.

He also said that the ongoing efforts to regularize the PRM's financial situation include mobilizing funds for the rehabilitation and construction of infrastructure.

“We didn't have the money for construction at the level of the General Command, even due to various economic contingencies that the country was facing, but we probably have a glimmer of hope that next year, the next financial year, we may have something that will support us in rehabilitating some of our infrastructure, but we can also find space to build new infrastructure,” he said.

On the other hand, he urged defense and security personnel to remain ready at all times to safeguard public order and security, avoiding situations like those that occurred at the end of last year.

“What happened now, in December, is a sign that we could have other similar situations,” he warned.

Sive was thus moralizing the members of the corps last night at the Command of the 5th Border Police Regiment, at the Melosa Crossing Point, in the district of Milange, as part of his visit to Zambezia province.
