João Lourenço visita Moçambique no próximo mês

The president of Angola, João Lourenço, will visit Mozambique next March at the invitation of his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi.

The announcement was made in Luanda, as part of a week-long visit by the President of the Assembly of the Republic (PAR), Esperança Bias, to that African country.

In the Angolan capital, she was received at a courtesy meeting by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. On the occasion, Esperança Bias reiterated President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi's invitation to the Angolan Head of State to visit Mozambique next March.

During the audience, the Speaker of the Mozambican Parliament referred to the objectives of her visit to Angola, at the invitation of her counterpart, Carolina Cerqueira, with regard to strengthening the historic relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries and parliaments.

Bias thanked the Republic of Angola for its multifaceted support for Mozambique in the fight against terrorism and the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as Mozambique's candidacy for non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council.

Esperança Bias hailed President João Lourenço for his leadership in the search for peace in the Great Lakes region and in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. (Letter)
