An overall amount of $120 million will be invested over the next five years in the country in activities aimed at increasing agricultural production and improving food security for families.
The information was announced by the representative of the United Nations Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Mozambique, Hernane Coelho, in a meeting to present and validate the program of this institution covering the period 2022-2023.
Hernane Coelho who is quoted by Notícias Online assured that 30 million dollars of the amount is already available.
According to the source the interventions will focus on the areas of economic diversification and sustainable livelihoods, natural resource management and environment, climate resilience, and emergency response.
The source said that these are the three priority areas defined in the previous program and that they may be adjusted depending on the conditions of the project sites, as well as new challenges and opportunities.
