Metrology inspection teams from the National Institute for Standardization and Quality (INNOQ) interdicted, between July 1st and August 13th of this year, 11 fuel hoses, corresponding to 22 fuel pumps due to measurement anomalies throughout the country.
Of these stations, nine were suspended for supplying below the tolerance ratio, two for doing so above average on their own initiative. The margin of error allowed is 100 milliliters (ml) negative or positive for a 20 liter meter.
For five other gas stations legal proceedings were opened for repeat offenders, while four were warned for being first-time offenders.
According to INNOQ, the offenders being prosecuted were practicing negative measurement of 160 ml, even after being warned.
