Since yesterday, heavy vehicles have been banned from the metal bridge over the Revué river, Km 33+000, on the N260 road, Chimoio - Sussundenga section, Manica province, for a period of 20 days.
This measure is due to damage to the bridge's metal structural components as a result of a road accident involving a heavy vehicle on the infrastructure, which took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, thus compromising the integrity of the bridge and putting users at risk.
The temporary suspension of traffic is intended to allow for the repair and replacement of damaged components. During the suspension period, HGV drivers are advised to use the following alternative routes: roads N260, section Sussundenga - Dombe, R520: Dombe - Chitausse (Goonda) - N1: Chitausse (Goonda) - Inchope and N6: Inchope - Chimoio.
In order to restore traffic on the bridge, technical teams from the National Roads Administration are on the ground monitoring the situation and assessing the damage so that work can begin on repairing and replacing the damaged components.
