Recording of "Game Of Thrones" in Portugal started today

The recording of the prequel "House Of the Dragon", from the series Games Of Thrones, started this Monday (18) in Portugal and should last until November. The scenes will feature several Portuguese extras. The premiere is scheduled for next year.

According to a note, the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, in the district of Castelo Branco, the recordings will take place in the village of Monsanto and in different areas of the county until at least November 3. Among the shooting locations are Largo 1.º de Maio, the village of Monsanto, Largo do Baluarte and Largo da Relva, among others.

The local authority has announced the dates of the recordings, and the famous Monsanto Castle will be off-limits to residents and tourists until the 13th of next month.

"The interdiction aims to create logistical and safety conditions for the work teams in the assembly of scenery and equipment," explains the note posted on social networks.

Ten years after the premiere of "Game Of Thrones," we will continue to follow the stories of the Seven Kingdoms. After many rumors, HBO has confirmed that the series "House Of Dragons" is already in production and will premiere in 2022.

"House Of the Dragon" will be a prequel to "Game Of Thrones." The story is based on the book "Fire & Blood", also by author George R. R. Martin. The new production will take place 300 years before the events of "Game Of Thrones" and will focus on the Dragon Dance, the civil war waged by the Targaryen.

The first season of "House Of Dragons" will feature 10 episodes.

Several European regions have hosted filming of the series over the course of the eight seasons, notably Spain, Croatia or Ireland, and have seen local tourism explode in the following years.
