A diver died this Friday (03) in Vilankulo, Inhambane province, after being attacked by a shark. The victim, a 36-year-old man, was devoured by the predator while he was out catching crabs.
According to a Radio MozambiqueIn the company of the victim were seven other divers who suddenly saw their companion struggling incessantly and desperately with the animal.
"I was talking to him when I suddenly looked under the water and saw that my brother was being attacked. He was bitten on the leg, buttock and part of the stomach. Everything was taken out, the person's intestines and liver," said a diver who witnessed the attack, adding that he had called for help but to no avail, as the giant animal was terrifying.
This is the second case of a fatal shark attack in the marine waters of Vilankulo, the first having occurred last Monday. The victim was a fisherman who was surprised by a shark while he was working in Vilankulo's marine waters.
